March 2008: Advanced Family Eyecare (AFEC) invests in World Class lens finishing equipment by Briot.

In order to bring increase quality to our finished lens products and more efficient service to the residents of Suwanee, AFEC felt it was necessary to invest in such a product. After extensive research, we felt the Briot edger and finishing equipment complemented our office the most. The edger cuts and edges all types of lenses and shapes. What it means to our patients is that we will be able to edge and finish most prescriptions in our office within in an hour and in some cases while you wait. If available, we will be able to provide emergency edging service if a lens should become dislodged and lost. We invite you to come by and see our new addition.

Just in time for summer, AFEC commited to providing the very best has decided to carry the popular and well known sunglass line Maui Jim. The sunglasses provide 100% UV protection with polarization to provide not only maximal protection for the suns rays but also crisp clear vision. The sunglasses are also capable of having your prescription incorporated into the lenses.



June 2008: AFEC introduces the ease of reordering your contact lenses online.

Our patients will be able to visit our website and replenish their supply of contact lenses with a click of the mouse. The system will request that your contact lens prescription is up to date and not expired.



July 2008: Vistakon releases Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism.

Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism provides increased comfort because of new proprietary technology of Hydroclear plus surface treatment. The lens is designed to be more stable on your eye in order to provide crisp, clear optics. The contact lens also has UV-A and UV-B protection.
