- Single Vision Lenses- a general all purpose lens available in all materials. Single vision lenses are design to function either at near or at far. For those individuals with normal accommodation single vision lenses will provide clear vision at near and at far.
- Flat Top Bifocal lenses- designed to offer vision at near and at far for those patients that require assistance due to a focusing dysfunction or presbyopia. The distance prescription and the near prescription is demarcated by a line. The bifocal line is available in a wide variety of widths to accommodate the patients needs.
- Progressive Addition Lenses (PAL)- also known as no-line bifocals provide both distance and near vision. There is no line to demarcate the two prescriptions but rather a gradual change in prescription from top to bottom. These lenses provide all around clear vision at far, at the intermediate distance, and at near. Thus providing not only a cosmetic appeal but also a functional use. They have become an appropriate lens of choice in this age of the computer and the strong visual demand at the arms length distance.
- Trifocal Lenses- These lenses combine the distance and the near prescriptions of a bifocal with the intermediate precription. The result is a lens with two lines which enables the patient to utilize their vision at the arms length distance.
- Photochromatic Lenses- are lenses that darken as one goes outside and lighten as you enter indoors. These are popular among those individuals who spend a lot of time outdoors and who are sensitive to sunlight. These are a great option for real estate agents or people whose occupation may be in sales.
- Computer Lenses- are available in a progressive lens design with an emphasis on a wider near and intermediate zone. They are available with special coatings to assist in the alleviation of glare and the reduction of ultraviolet radiation.
- Specialty Lenses- Lenses can be prescribed as single vision lenses for any particular type of working distance. For instance, sewing, playing the piano, woodworking, golfing, or computer work. The only requirement would be to measure the distance of the desired visual task.
