• Comprehensive eye exams
    • Our comprehensive examinations evaluate your eyes on multiple levels. It is important to allow at least an hour for a comprehensive eye examination. For your exam you will want to bring the eyeglasses and contact lenses you are currently wearing. Bring with you a list of all your medications, both oral medications and eye drops.

A refraction is performed to determine the most appropriate prescription for your visual needs. The focusing system as well as the muscle systems are also evaluated. The internal and external ocular health of each eye are evaluated using specialized microscopes and lenses. The eyes are evaluated for glaucoma and are dilated in order to evaluate the internal structures for cataracts, macular degeneration, and systemic medical conditions (i.e. diabetes, hypertension). Please be aware that during an initial evaluation and as necessary for future examinations your eyes will be dilated in order to obtain the most thorough view of the internal structures of your eyes. Please bring sunglasses or otherwise our office will supply you with a pair of disposable shades. Because the dilation effects everyone on a different scale we encourage you to bring a driver for your return home.
